Learning through others’ experiences
Books. Some people love them, some never open them. I have mixed emotions when it comes to reading. In school, we are forced to read different genres and classics of literature. People say books are a way for one to escape or fantasize about a completely different world. However, I feel like I don’t always want to feel the need to escape. I’d rather learn how to make my world so enjoyable that I choose it over a fantasy. That’s why my favorite books are self-help books. These books allow me to take advice from more experienced people who have created the mindsets and habits I hope to create myself. These self-help and motivational books are a way for me to relate to someone else and feel understood. My outlook and appreciation of life have improved from just a couple of stories. Below are my top favorite book recommendations. No matter where you are in your life, spending a few hours reading these books will add clarity to your mindset and hand you the confidence to conquer every moment. The advice I use every day stems from the content in these books.
- “Atomic Habits” by James Clear
- “The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom” by Don Miguel Ruiz
- “You are a Badass” by Jen Sincero
- “Words to Live By” by Jade Paper Brown
- My current recommendation: “Ladies Get Paid” by Claire Wasserman
